About the Journal
The Lawgorithm: Iberoamerican Journal on Artificial Intelligence and Law is a quarterly journal affiliated with the Lawgorithm Association for Research on Artificial Intelligence. It accepts national and international works and research connected to Law and Artificial Intelligence from two perspectives: on one hand, articles about the application of artificial intelligence to law, and on the other, articles about the legal and ethical implications and regulation of artificial intelligence.
The journal will accept original publications from authors holding a Ph.D. degree. Exceptionally, works written by master's degree holders may be accepted, provided they have a Ph.D. co-author or the article's subject is funded by a national or international research funding agency.
Articles or papers can be written in Portuguese, Spanish, French, Italian, and English.
The thematic lines for publication in Lawgorithm include the following topics:
I) Artificial Intelligence and Law
- Computational and formal models of legal reasoning, including argumentation, reasoning about evidence, and legal interpretation and decision-making.
- Knowledge acquisition techniques for the legal domain, including natural language processing, argument mining, and legal data mining.
- Representation of Legal Knowledge, including legal ontologies and common-sense representation.
- Modeling of normative systems and multi-agent systems.
- Computable Law and Intelligent Ethical/Legal Agents.
- Machine Learning applied to legal texts for developing data analysis in the legal field.

Focus and Scope
The Lawgorithm: Iberoamerican Journal on Artificial Intelligence and Law aims to serve as a platform for disseminating new knowledge and fostering knowledge exchange between researchers, scholars, and professionals in legal studies and related fields aligned with Artificial Intelligence themes. Its publication seeks to encourage research and study in this area. The journal accepts scientific articles from the legal field and related areas that are relevant to legal studies.
